Our Hotel
The Hotel Sant'Andrea is located in Via C. Cattaneo, until 1881 called "Via delle Cappuccine Vecchie": the toponym originates from the fact that in the seventeenth century the building was part of a monastic complex of Capuchin nuns, founded in 1675 by the Ravenna noblewoman Giulia Pascoli who introduced - with apostolic approval - the strict rule of Santa Chiara, called "delle Cappuccine". It was during that year that Nobile Pascoli retired together with the first members to the maternal house, temporarily transformed into a convent, and on November 23 Monsignor Girolamo Fabri - Apostolic Prototonic and Canon Theologian of the city Cathedral - consecrated the church of the Monastery (obtained in adjacent building), dedicating it to the Ravenna San Pier Damiano. Since then Giulia Pascoli was Sister Chiara, the abbess of the monastery. on November 8, 1682 the church was solemnly consecrated and four days later the Archbishop placed the Apostolic Cloister at the Monastery. In 1810 following the decision of the Napoleonic government to suppress all ecclesiastical orders, the Capuchin nuns of Ravenna were dispersed, the convent abandoned and transformed into private homes.
